On the Spreadsheet View page, you can add assignments, such as a paper or a lab, that students complete outside CourseCompass. You can use the online gradebook, in other words, to store all grades, regardless of whether the assignment was completed online.
To add tests that students do complete in CourseCompass, use the Assessment Manager, not the Spreadsheet View. As soon as you make these tests available to students, they are displayed on the Spreadsheet View page.
To add an assignment to the gradebook that students will complete outside CourseCompass:
Click the course title on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel from the Course Home page.
Click Online Gradebook under Assessment, and click Spreadsheet View.
Click Add Item.
Under Enter Item Information, name the assignment, and select the type of assignment (such as homework or essay) from the list.
Enter the number of points to be awarded for the assignment.
Under Options, click Yes or No to determine whether the assignment is immediately available for students to complete.
Click Submit.
Note: Click Cancel to return to the Spreadsheet View page without adding an assignment.
View the new assignment in the spreadsheet.
Remember the following:
You may need to scroll the list of tests and assignments to see the new assignment.
If you are displaying only a subset of entries, you may need to select Show All in the Filter items by type list and click Select.
