Selecting random blocks of questions from a pool or test

You can import random blocks of questions into a test. You cannot import random blocks of questions into a survey or a question pool.

To reuse random blocks of questions in a test:

  1. Create a test or open a test to modify it.

  2. Click Add Item at the top left of the page.

  3. Under Select Question Type, select From Question Pool or Assessment.

  4. Click Submit.

  5. Under Import Questions, choose Select Random Block of Questions from Pool.

  6. Click Submit.

  7. Under Import Random Block from Pool, select a question type. Select ANY to include all question types.

  8. Select one question pool. If you like, click Preview by a pool to review its questions, and then click OK to return to this page.

  9. Click Submit.

Note: CourseCompass displays an error message if the question pool you select does not include the question type(s) you chose in step 3. You must then select a different question type or different pool under Import Random Block from Pool.

  1. Under Select Random Block, choose the number of questions to include in the random block from the list. The list displays the number of questions in the pool of the correct type, such as multiple choice.

  2. Click Submit.

  3. On the Assessment Builder page, do one of the following:

To see the questions that the students will see, click the Preview button next to the test in the Assessment Builder.
