You use the Assessment Manager to create, import, and work with tests and surveys. You can build these tests and surveys yourself, import them from other applications such as TestGen, or use preloaded chapter tests associated with your textbook.
When you create a test, you have the option of reusing questions from a pool or existing test. The difference between pools and tests is that pools are simply a resource for questions. Tests (assessments), on the other hand, are ready to offer students, with questions grouped appropriately and assigned point values (weighting).
The Assessment Manager displays the following information about tests and surveys:
Last Modified – The date you created the course (for preloaded course content) or the date you last modified the test or survey. The most recently modified items are shown at the top of the Assessment Manager list.
Name – The name of the test or survey. Be sure to set up a naming scheme for your tests and surveys that will help you quickly identify the test or survey you want.
Type – In this column, you can see whether the item is a test or survey. Surveys are ungraded.
Availability – Look here to see whether students can see the test or survey you want to assign. You must make a test or survey unavailable before you modify it.
Action buttons – You can preview, modify, or delete any test or survey.
Caution: If you delete a test or survey, you cannot restore it except by retyping it. Consider making the test or survey unavailable rather than deleting it.
