Assess student work>>Tests>>Create tests
Your textbook may provide preloaded chapter-by-chapter quizzes and tests. You can use these tests as is, modify them, or use a test as a pool of questions for new tests.
For students to see a preloaded test, you must make it available and then assign it to a CourseCompass content area.
To make a preloaded test available:
Click the course title on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel from the Course Home page.
Click Assessment Manager under Assessment.
Select an assessment or survey provided with your textbook, and click Set Availability.
Under Assessment Availability Information, click Yes to make the assessment available.
Note: The screen refreshes with two additional options under Assessment Availability Information. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, this screen refresh may take a few moments.
Indicate whether you want CourseCompass to display an announcement about the newly available test. Also, select a content area in which you want to add a link to the test.
Note: You cannot move tests between content areas. If you want to move the test later, you must make it unavailable, thereby losing any grade statistics associated with it.
(Optional) Indicate a specific time frame in which students can see the link to the test (as well as the announcement, if you selected that option). Do one, both, or neither of the following:
Click the Display After checkbox, and select the date and time at which you want students to see the test information.
Click the Display Until checkbox, and select the date and time at which you want the test to be hidden from students.
Note: If you do not select either of these options, the test and announcements will be immediately visible to students, with no specified time limit. Want more details about test visibility?
Under Options:
Select any of three options—Show detailed results, Reveal correct answer, or Feedback enabled—to determine how much information students will see after they complete the test. Students will always see their final result in terms of the number of points they received out of the total available.
Indicate whether students can take the test multiple times.
Set a time limit for the test and set a password, if desired.
Note: To review how these options affect what a student sees, preview the test.
Click Submit. Or click Cancel to return to the Assessment Manager without changing the availability status.
To make a test unavailable, follow steps 1-4 of this procedure, select No under Assessment Availability Information, click OK at the prompt, click Submit, and click OK again at the prompt.
IMPORTANT: If you make an available test unavailable, you will lose any grade statistics associated with it.
