Assess student work>>TestGen tests
You need to install the TestGen application on your computer in order to create assessments using Pearson Education testbanks. You must also install the TestGen plug-in, which allows TestGen tests to be imported into CourseCompass and also saves students' grades on TestGen tests in the gradebook.
To install TestGen:
Click the TestGen Browser Plug-in link in the Teaching with CourseCompass module on the My CourseCompass page.
Click the click here link to display the steps for downloading the application.
Turn off any virus protection software.
Click the correct link for your operating system (Windows or Macintosh) to save the application to your computer.
Locate the installer file in the download directory you specified, and double-click to install the application.
Turn on any virus protection software.
Before installing the plug-in, check your browser version. If you are using Internet Explorer, click the Important notice link in the Teaching with CourseCompass module. The current version of the TestGen plug-in does not work with IE 5.5 SP2.
To install the plug-in:
Click the TestGen Browser Plug-in link in the Teaching with CourseCompass module on the My CourseCompass page.
Click the install the TestGen browser plug-in link to display the steps for downloading the plug-in.
Click the correct link for your operating system (Windows or Macintosh) to save the plug-in to your computer.
Important: Log out of CourseCompass and close your browser.
Locate the installer file in the download directory you specified, and double-click to install.
Follow the on-screen directions to install.
Reopen your browser and log back in to CourseCompass.
Important: On the My CourseCompass page, click the TestGen Browser Plug-in link in the Teaching with CourseCompass module. Click the Check that the plug-in installed correctly link. Follow the troubleshooting tips provided, if necessary.
