Assess student work>>TestGen tests
For students to take a TestGen test, you must create the test in TestGen, import it into CourseCompass, and make it available. In addition, students must download the TestGen plug-in from the My CourseCompass page.
To import a TestGen test:
Click the course title on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel from the Course Home page.
Click Assessment Manager under Assessment.
Click Add TestGen Test.
Provide a name and description of the test, and click Submit.
Enter instructions for taking the test, and click Submit.
Under TestGen Test File, click Browse to locate your test file with the extension *.tst. Click Open to select it.
Select test-taking options, such as:
Select the information that students see when they complete or review the test. For example, choose whether the students' answers and the correct answers are displayed on the review page.
Regenerate random numbers for each question, shuffle Multiple Choice answers, and scramble question order. These options help protect the test-taking process online.
Choose the length of time students have to take the test, and warn the students at a specified point that the time is almost up.
Password protect the test. The password is case sensitive. Any user, including an instructor or administrator, must enter the password correctly to open the test.
Enter the total number of points to be assigned to the test in the gradebook.
Click Submit.
The test appears in the list of assessments on the Assessment Manager page. As with any test, you can modify, preview, or delete it as well as set its availability. Remember that students cannot see the test until you make it available.
