Adding eBook links to questions

If your course materials include an eBook, you can add eBook links to questions you create for a test or survey.

To do so:

  1. Create a test or open a test to modify it. Alternatively, create a survey or open a survey to modify it.

  2. Open the Add/Modify Question(s) page for a question in which you want to place an eBook link. Do one of the following:

  1. Look for links titled "Create eBook link." You may see these by the Question Text box, for example, or by the correct and incorrect response boxes under Options.

  2. Enter the name of the link you want students to see. For example, you might give the link the name of your course textbook.

  3. Enter the page number to which you want to refer.

  4. Click Submit.

  5. Copy the text tagged with HTML codes, and click Close window.

The tagged text will take the form:
<a href="/ebook/dispatch?isbn=XXXXXXXXXX&page=XX">Author
</a>

Be sure to highlight the entire text before you copy it.

  1. Copy the text into a Question Text box or into the Correct Response or Incorrect Response boxes.

  2. Under Submit, click Preview. If you placed the link in the Question Text box, you will see the link in the question. After you finish previewing, you can click Add Item at the top of the page to continue adding questions or you can save the test or survey.
