Using Course Tools

Under Course Tools in the Control Panel, you can view, add, modify, and delete:

You can also:

Discussion Board lets you and your students communicate asynchronously (at different times) about specific issues. Discussion Board is much like a chat room, but you can provide a focus and a message to start off the conversation, if you wish.

Virtual Classroom lets you run real-time online classroom discussions, extra help sessions, and question-and-answer forums.

The Digital Drop Box provides a way for you to share documents electronically with your students. Students can also use the Digital Drop Box to drop off their work to you.

On the Course Home page, you access these and other tools with either the Communication button or the Tools button. Clicking the Communication button displays links to Send email, Discussion Board, and Virtual Classroom. You can also access the class Roster and Group Pages, if you have divided your class into smaller working units.

Clicking the Tools button displays links to the Digital Drop Box, course calendar, and tasks. You can also access the Electric Blackboard.

Note: Although a link appears for Edit Your Homepage, it is disabled because only students have homepages in CourseCompass. Instructors create staff profiles instead of homepages.
