For some tools—such as send email or the Address Book—you can view and perform the same actions from either the pages within the course, the My CourseCompass page, or the Control Panel.
For other tools—such as announcements, the calendar, and tasks—what you can view and do varies on these two pages.
From the My CourseCompass page, what you see and can do pertains to all the courses you are previewing, teaching, or taking.
Within the course, the tools pertain to a single course you are previewing, teaching, or taking.
Finally, some tools—such as Electric Blackboard or Discussion Board—are available only from the pages of your course. There is one tool—Digital Drop Box—that you as an instructor can access only from the Control Panel.
Notes:
You access tools within your course by clicking either Communication or Tools.
You can access most tools from the Control Panel.
Your can enable, disable, and remove content areas and tools in a course by changing your area availability settings.
