Adding a book folder

You can organize book items in book folders. To do so, you must first create the book folder and then add items to it.

To add a book folder:

  1. Click the course title on the My CourseCompass page.

  2. Click Control Panel from the Course Home page.

  3. Click Books under Content Areas.

  4. Click Add Folder.

  5. Under Folder Information, click the arrow next to the Name box and then click a name in the list. If you want to specify a different name, type it in the box below the list.

  6. (Optional) Click Pick to select a color for the folder's name. Click a color in the ColorPicker.

  7. Type a description in the box.

  8. Click one of the options for displaying the text:

Note: You can also format text directly using HTML tags.

  1. (Optional) Under Options, indicate the date on which you want to make the folder available to students. Click the Display After box and then click the arrows next to the date and time boxes to select the desired entries.

 Note: By default, CourseCompass assumes you want to display the folder immediately. You must make allowances for international time differences.

  1. (Optional) Indicate the date until which you want to make the folder available to students. Click the Display Until box and then click the arrows next to the date and time boxes to select the desired entries.

  2. Click Yes next to Do you want to make the folder visible? if you want the folder to be available to students.

Note: If you click No, you can always make the folder visible at a later date.

  1. Click Submit to add the folder.
