CourseCompass lets you store items in any location that makes sense for your course. However, you may find it useful to separate course information from course documents and other teaching materials.
In general, course document items and folders include material you use to teach the course, such as:
Student resources
Chapters and units
Lecture notes
Handouts and packets
Presentations
Images
Exercises
On the other hand, course information items typically include materials related to your course's organization and requirements, such as:
Syllabus
Overview
Meeting times
Objectives
Frequently asked questions
Course projects
Grading policies
Attendance policies
In other words, course information relates primarily to the logistics of teaching and taking your course.
Tip: Remember, you can attach material you developed in other computer applications to either course information items or course document items. For example, you might create your course syllabus in Microsoft Word and then attach it to a course information Syllabus item. Or you might put together a slide show in Microsoft PowerPoint and attach it to a Lecture Supplements or Presentations course document item.
