Although you can store items where you want in CourseCompass, you may find it useful to separate course information from course documents and other teaching materials.
In general, CourseCompass course information items include materials related to your course's organization and requirements, such as:
Syllabus
Overview
Class schedule
Required textbooks
Objectives
Frequently asked questions
Course projects
Grading policies
Attendance policies
In other words, course information relates primarily to the logistics of teaching and taking your course.
On the other hand, CourseCompass course document items and folders typically contain the materials you use to actually teach the course, such as:
Student resources
Chapters and units
Lecture notes
Handouts and packets
Presentations
Images
Exercises
Tip: Remember, you can attach material you developed in other computer applications to either course information items or course documents. For example, you can create your course syllabus in Microsoft Word and then attach it to a course information Syllabus item. Or you might put together a slide show in Microsoft PowerPoint and attach it to a Lecture Supplements or Presentations course document.
