Customize a course>>Add content>>Announcements
To add an announcement to a course:
Click the course title on the My CourseCompass page.
Click Control Panel from the Course Home page.
Click Announcements under Content Areas.
Click Add Announcement.
Under Announcement Information, type a message for the announcement.
Click one of the options for displaying the text:
Smart Text displays the text as it is entered, but converts URLs and email addresses into links.
Plain Text displays the text exactly as it is entered, with no links.
HTML codes the text you enter with HTML tags.
Note: You can also format text directly using HTML tags.
Under Options, indicate whether you want the announcement to appear permanently on the course Announcements page.
(Optional) Indicate the date on which you want to make the announcement available to students. Click the Display After box and then click the arrows next to the date and time boxes to select the desired entries.
Note: By default, CourseCompass assumes you want to display the announcement immediately. You must make allowances for international time differences.
(Optional) Indicate the date until which you want to make the announcement available to students. Click the Display Until box and then click the arrows next to the date and time boxes to select the desired entries.
Click Submit to add the announcement.
Note: Click Cancel to return to the Announcements page without adding the announcement.
You can view the announcement on the course Announcements page.
Note: Course-related announcements also appear when you click Announcements in the Tools module on the My CourseCompass page.
