To access Help for CourseCompass, click Help at the upper-right of any CourseCompass page. CourseCompass Help opens in a separate browser window.
Tip: Because Help contains a wealth of information, it can take several minutes to appear. You may find it useful to open Help each time you log in to CourseCompass and then leave the Help window open while you work.
The Help window consists of two panes: the Navigation pane and the Topic pane.
The Navigation pane provides access to all of the Help components. It contains three tabs:
The Contents tab displays the Help books and their pages. To open a book and show its pages, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the book icon. Click a page to view the corresponding topic in the Topic pane to the right. To close a book, click the minus sign (-) to the left of the book icon.
The Index tab provides a list of keywords that you can use to search for information on a specific topic. Example
Type a keyword or scroll the list until you see a keyword you want to know more about.
Double-click the word to display a topic about that word. If more than one topic appears in a popup window, double-click the topic you want to view.
The Search tab lets you type a word or phrase you want to locate and then click Find. A list of all relevant topics appears. Double-click a topic to display it in the Topic pane. Example
The Topic pane displays the current Help topic.
Above the topic title, a link indicates the book to which the topic belongs. If the topic belongs to a section within a book, an additional link appears. By clicking these links, you can display the contents of the book or section to which the topic belongs.
A topic can include links, which appear underlined and in blue. Click a link to display the related topic.
Many topics include a Related Topics button below the topic text. Click the button to see a list of related topics and then click the topic you want to view.
