CourseCompass lets you organize course content in a number of areas, such as Course Documents, Course Information, and Assignments. CourseCompass is flexible, letting you put your content in whatever area you choose.
To customize your course, you can use items, folders, learning units, and eBook links.
An item is any discrete piece of content stored by CourseCompass. Whether you are working with a syllabus, a course project, lecture notes, or an assessment, you are working with an item. You can add an item to a folder, or you can add an item to a learning unit.
Note: You cannot add an existing item to a folder or learning unit. You must create the folder or learning unit first.
A folder is a container in which you can group multiple items. For example, you can create folders to store items of the same type, items that together make up an assignment, or items submitted by individual students. You can place folders within folders (but not within learning units).
A learning unit is a set of course items and files you want to present to students as a group. You can allow students to explore these items at will, or you can specify a linear progression through them.
An eBook link is a link to a page in an eBook that comes with your course material.
Depending on the course material you selected, your course may include a PDF (Portable Document Format) eBook, an HTML eBook, a MetaText eBook, or no eBook. By default, the Books content area appears only if your course includes a MetaText eBook, but you can add the Books content area by changing its area availability setting.
