Items and Folders

An item is any discrete piece of content stored by CourseCompass. Whether you are working with a syllabus, a course project, lecture notes, or an assessment, you are working with an item. You can:

• Add, modify, or remove an item

• Add an item to a folder

• Reorder items

• Add an item to a learning unit

Note: You cannot add an existing item to a folder or learning unit. You must create the folder or learning unit first.

A folder is a container in which you can group multiple items. For example, you can create folders to store items of the same type, items that together make up an assignment, or items submitted by individual students. You can place folders within folders (but not within learning units). You can:

• Add, modify, or remove a folder

• Reorder folders
